AOL sign on screen

When ever I start my PC it starts up and runs thru its normal start up process. Then it brings up automatically the AOL sign on screen. Shortly after showing my desktop screen. This has become a real pain in the rear. Yes it is pretty simple to just close it out and get back to my desktop to do other off-line work but then after you do the PC automatically does it again about 2-3 minutes later and brings up the AOL sign on screen. So then you have to close it out again kind of a pain. Sometimes you would think it would be nice to just start the PC and just get on AOL which it is nice except for one big problem is while you are on AOL doing what ever it tries to bring up the sign on screen and locks up the whole PC so you have to use the Control + Alt. + Delete and go through the whole process again that takes up about 20 minutes and you lose what you were looking at. How can I fix the problem so I get the AOL sign on screen ONLY when I click (double click actually) on the AOL Icon?

Yeah. AOL sucks. That is why they are going bankrupt...no one wants to pay for something that has never been fixed from day one. One fix is after logging into AOL, search their A-Z listing for "start up". You can change it to not load on start up. Another way is to click on "start" on the bottom of your desktop screen. Click on "Run". Type in "msconfig". This will bring up a windows screen for configuration. At the top, click on the tab that says 'start up". Uncheck the boxes that say AOL (I have at least 3). This will prevent AOL from loading when turning on your computer, which also makes your booting time less because it is not loading programs that you don't want right away. You don't have to reboot then, but the next time you turn on your computer, it will say that you changed something. Click on the box that says "don't show me this again" (or whatever it says) because you already knew that something was changed. Hope this helps.
