Asked about “AOL Mail Help

AOL.com Mail redirect

For some odd reason since yesterday afternoon, clicking on Mail from AOL.com redirects me to http://wap.aol.com/auth/menu.do?src=websuite&id=6000&canurl=http%3a%2f%2fwap.aol.com&seamless=Y&returl=http%3a%2f%2fwap.aol.com%2fmail%2f_cqr%2fLoginSuccess.aspx%3fsiteState%3dver%253a3%257cat%253aWAP%257crp%253aWap%25252fMsgList.aspx%257clc%253aen-us

Why, I have no idea. I do not have, nor ever had AOL>MyMobile .

Please help me set it back to normal.

AOL Mail - Community Support Team

Hi Idm1701,

We are currently investigating this issue.  For now, please try to access AOL Mail via http://webmail.aol.com and see if this helps.

Your suggestion did not work. That links me to the page I am having trouble with. AOL>MyMobile. Just as before.

Try using another browser (I guess you are using IE7). Try Firefox. Also try going to http://basic.webmail.aol.com.

The AOL Mailteam is heavily working on getting this fixed ASAP.

I would rather not start fooling w/another browser. It worked fine until Yesterday afternoon. I have always used IE. Granted this may be some sort of MS issue, but it is something in coding causing this.

Also I did try using another computer (Win98) w/IE6 and it worked ok.

I know that really doesn't mean much, but just figured I'd lyk.

Thanks

AOL support personel investigated the IE problem and were able to correct it.

The problem has been correct. Going to http://webmail.aol.com should work now again without the nasty redirect to Mobile mail

If you have a Windows Mobile device, you can use AOL MyMobile to check AOL Mail (as well as use AIM), and can get the service by going to wap.aol.com/mymobile.  BlackBerry will be supported this summer. Non-smartphone support is TBD.  You can read more on your computer at mobile.aol.com/mymobile.

The person who ask was not using mobile, but Webmail on the desktop and complaint about a (wrong) redirect to mobile mail. So he explicitly did NOT want to use mobile mail.
