Is it possible that you have a pop-up blocker set on your browser? When you click on a link in your email, look at the top of your browers, or along the bar on the bottom (which is usually where a browser pop-up blocker would indicate an issue). If your browser doesn't trust AOL Webmail to open new windows, then clicking on a link won't work...and it will likely yield some kind of warning tone.
