If the recipient for your email was either an @aol.com or @aim.com address, you can check to see if the email was opened by going to your Sent folder and checking the box next to the email in question.
After checking the box, click on the Action button and then select Show Message Status.
If you're using the AOL software, similar to above. Go into your Sent folder, select the message and then click "Status."
