Obama and the Democrats are using fear again to try and scare the American public into support for health care reform.
Let me make this clear from the outset. There DOES need to be reform in health care, but through regulation and enforcement of the insurance industry to prevent gouging, and making plans affordable to those who WANT it!
Millions of Americans CHOOSE not to carry coverage. that is their prerogative, in a free society!
What Obama and the Democrats have failed to impress on Americans, is that ACCESS does NOT equal CARE!
People believe that because they have that federal health care card, they will be able to walk into any health care facility and demand treatment!
Nothing could be farther from the truth! Your treatment options will be determined by a Insurance Commission run by the bureaucrats in DC!
Anyone who has ever dealt with th government knows that turnaround times, and efficiency have NEVER been their strong suits!
Imagine an Insurance Commission making decisions for 275 million people every day? Think there will be a backlog?
Let's look at costs. No one has spoken of deductibles. This will not be FREE coverage! How do insurance companies( private or government) reduce costs? They DENY tests!
Lets look at senior care. Under the Obama plan anyone over the age of 62 who has a two system ( circulatory, respiratory etc.)failure will not be able to receive treatment for heart bypass etc. They are not considered viable patients under the plan. Most patients who have these types of problems at that age, have at least two system involvements. Obama's plan will let these people die, so a 22 year old may have access he may not even choose to have. Proponents will cry "scare tactics", well it is scary to me, and should be to you as well.
Democrats have used the boogeyman of "the Republicans are going to end Social Security" in every election for the last 50 years! Scare tactics?
The best analogy I can give is, when you go to a ballgame and get a general admission ticket, it gets you in the game, that does not mean you are going to the corporate box seats, it means you may in the nosebleed seats where you can't see the game at all.!
