We've had 2 straight days of temperatures near 100 degrees. But, hey! It's August! Too many people are ready to blame every anomaly in the climate on Global Warming.
I'm sure that there is some validity in the concept, but in recent years, everything that happens is somehow assumed to be connected. I'm reminded of a man who firmly believed that if you killed a snake and hung it in a tree, it would rain within 3 days. What he never realized was, in this area, it rains about every 3 days anyway, snake or no snake.
The weather has always had patterns. There are hot years and cool years. There are stormy seasons and calm seasons. But, unfortunately, people's memories are very short and selective. Why do older people swear that the snows were bigger when they were kids? Because they were smaller; everything seemed big.
