Try radio shack for splicing tape....Open cart. Join tape...Cart will snap back togeather as long as you didn't break the tabs.....Copy to cd
Remove 8trk player and you should be able to connect a cd player to the amp on the unit via the headphone jack on the cd player again radio shack should have the cable you need cheap even wal mart etc carry this type of cable.......Let me know if you need more help
