6-hour tour of London from Heathrow airport & back

We're planning to see some famous attractions in London from London Heathrow Airport during our stop over for 7 hours. Any suggestion as to what mode of transport from & back to airport?

Also, which places of interest we could visit during this period and the best order to do it to make the most of our time for the brief visit.  It would also be helpful to give us detailed info on how to get to each places then back to Heathrow airport.

Thank you so much.

The fastest way to get to the city would be to take the HEX. Heathrow Express that leaves every 15 minutes. Once you get to paddington station I would buy a one day travel card for the tubes.

You will probaby have approximately 3.5 hours in London once you get there and with giving yourself enough time to get back.

If I had only 3.5 hours in London I would take the Bakerloo line from Paddington to Charing Cross, walk through Trafalgar Square and up Whitehall to Parliament and Westminster Abbey (passing Downing Street along the way), then I would turn left at Parliament and cross the Thames to the London Eye. I'd take a trip on the Eye to see as much as I could.

Hope this helps!

Have fun!
