Can i use 12volt(800mA) adaptor instead of 9volt(800mA) adaptor for my picstart plus programmer?
from my experiance NO even though both adapter handle the same amp load the increase in voltage would be too much and burn up the device.
Don't use a 12 V power source on electronic 9V instrumentunless you like seeing smoke. It's okay to use a power supply that has a higher amperage than is required of the electronic item you are using but,you can never exceed the voltage.
Yes you can the VR sould be rated at least 3V above 9. You are ok, it ill run a little hot but youre ok. Keep moving.
