50ish husband, new degree, can't find work. HELP!!!

My husband, at the tender age of 48, obtained a BS in Business with emphases in Computer Information Systems and Accounting in December, 2005. Since then he has only been able to get one job at 2/3 what his 22 year old classmates make, with a really abusive boss. (He quit after a year.)

What does he need to do to get a job in either CIS or accounting? He's even applied for bookkeeping jobs just to have a JOB, but is told he's overqualified. And  everyone else tells him he doesn't have enough experience. What does a guy need to do to get a break?

I believe it's just a matter of time. Your husband seems to be a very qualified man. He should keep looking, eventually he'll find something. I understand the age is somewhat of an obstacle, but it's just another one to overleap. I wish you the best of luck.
