Im 33 female that has been struggling with depression

I am a 33 year old female that has been fighting with depression for as long as I can remember. I have been to doctors and on mediction but nothing has ever taken away the fog I have been living in . Will I ever be able to live with out depression or are some people just "wired" like me and always have to fight with depression?

Have read that alcohol, caffene, sugar and refined carbs, food additives (colors/preservatives) and food allergies can aggravate depression and other problems like ADD/ADHD.  As can hormones (birth control and HRT)  Was on estrogen several years ago.  After three weeks I quit because I didn't like the person I turned into.  I felt aggitated and angry all the time for no apparent reason.  I've also read that certain vitamins can help ease the symtoms of depression.  Calcium, magnesium, magenese, vit C, and the B vitamins (1, 6, 12, folic acid, niacin).  You might want to check out what people like Dr Andrew Weil, Dr Christiane Northrup and Dr Lee have to say in regards to treating depression naturally.  All are noted doctors, authors, lecturers.  Best wishes to you.

You not the only one out there with depression am a 35 year old female that I was told this pass summer that am bio-polor I been dealing with this my hole life I was on meds. but right after I started them I found out that I was expecting so I had to stop. I will be having this baby soon and I already got appointment to she the speacilist for my depression the meds help out a lot they made me not be so down on myself and I got my freinds and boyfreind on my side to help me thur this.  I had to go thur a few docs. before there understood what I as going thur and I try to replace things in my life to try to make things better but it just made thing harder. I don't know if this helps or not but I just wanted you to know you not the only one out there!!!

Have you tried ADHD medicines (Ritalin, Concerta). They are said to help with depression in some cases, but should of course only be tested under control by a psychiatrist.

Good Evening

I've been going thru major depression & anxiety since Oct.  A friend of mind recommended reading Feeling Good, The New Mood Therapy (revised & updated) by David D. Burns, M.D.   You can purchase from Amazon or Borders for approximately $7.99.  I'm not a reader, but I fine myself having difficulty putting the book down.  Good Luck!

Reading books as BeeBee said, plus some nice hypno. music, relaxing music, releasing stress and all.

Besides, I have some friends of mine with depression, tried to meditate and pray to overcome depression without using medication (which mostly bring side-effect).  They put their mind concentrate on the spiritual path, because human are made from body and spirit.  Since depression deal with emotion, which is closer to spiritual part of human, so try to work hard on the mind of hypno for yourself.  Chanting and praying constantly, visualize great white purify light from the universal blessing on you, visualize that you are happily ever after.

Besides that, throw yourself into some sort of the charity work to help people with depression, go places of orphanage to help out, try to find something of your interest to put your mind fully on helping people, seeing people happiness as your own.

As far as supplements, vitamin B complex will help with relaxation too.
