2 year old at day care not walking

Hello, I work at a  day care. I have a 2 year old not walking. He stands up holding on but won't walk. Mom says that doc. says because he has had a lot of illnessness. Hes only had upper respiratory things that i'm aware of. Child has very small ears also. Something seems wrong to me. Our administraters have offered various suggestions to  this mom. This child also will spend quite a bit of time a day lining things up and playing quietly alone until someone bothers him and he screams. I truly believe this mom is in denial. Any suggestions on what i should do!!!       Lori

It is never to late,to be what you might have been!

try encouraging walking.Get excited when he takes steps.maybe nothings wrong with the child, he may just have a quiet nature.altough if you have more concerns that the child isnt being cared for properly have a professional evaulate the child and your concerns.it also sound to me that the child could have some altistic behaviors.seeking a professional is the best advice i can give you.
