21 pounds in 21 days

I read about the 21 pounds in 21 days diet and it sounds a bit too drastic for me. It's probably OK if you're spending these 21 days in Martha's Vineyard under medical supervision, but doing this it at home? Isn't it dangerous?

What's the hurry?!! What's wrong with our instant-everything fascination?!!

Did you gain 21 pounds in 21 days? If not, then it's probably not healthy and won't last.

Simple diet solution I heard by comedian Loretta LaRoche (she delivers it in a much more funny manner than i could possibly do on this website).

"EAT LESS, MOVE MORE!"

Good luck!

Yea, I wouldn't try doing that diet on your own.  It does seem a bit drastic and losing that amount of weight so quickly just seems unnecessary.  My father created this diet where he takes everything that he would normally put on a plate or anything that is served to him in a restaurant, and he eats half of it.  We people eat a lot more than our bodies need.  This doesn't mean that you should eat a tiny bit every meal, but try keeping half of your portions as leftovers.  Maybe this along with some exercise will be a good start for you.

Have not read the book.

Stick to losing weight the healthy way.

Best program is to have a balanced diet (no fried food or snacks) and exercise regularly with turbulence training, it combines both resistance and interval training.

Have a plan and goal to lose weight progressively.  Stick to the plan and prepare yourself to change your eating habits!

I finally understand what "working for the weekend" really means.

Detox diets are great. But for sustaining your weight loss long term, I am a huge fan of Weight Watchers. It may not be that cool or trendy, but it's been around forever because it works. Weight Watchers forces you to change your eating habits and lifestyle habits. There is no 21 day, quick-fix answer to weight loss.

Alot of people are doing the self cleanse.  Not sure I could live on just water for 6-10 weeks.  But, heard it does work.  All diets in one way or another are not good for you if it includes atarving yourself.

should try this simple way

1) Eat more steam food, lean meat, lean protein, vegies and fruits

2) Cut out the junk food, soda drinks and snacks.  Get rid of the junk food from the cupboards!  Eat cashew / almond nuts instead.

3) drink plenty of water / green tea

4) Exercise - look at combining weights and cardio into your program.  you can look at alternating upper and lower body exercises without rest, say bicep curls, then lunges , rest and repeat.  With cardio, try sprinting 100m, jog 100m and repeat.

5) Have 5-6 healthy meals a day(1 plate portions) to keep your body satisfied

6) if you have cravings drink water or eat fruits
here's an article to Diets That Work Quick

7) have an action plan for long term goals, start off with small goals and increase it gradually over time.  And you will see in your size drop.

8) form a support group.  Make yourself accountable to someone like your parents/relatives/friends/partners.  Best yet, get them to participate in a healthy lifestyle.

Good luck

i think it's a bad idea.  you should try losing just a few pounds a week.  like maybe 2 a week.  if you lose too much weight too fast, it comes back twice as much. even if you're still on diet. it's very unhealthy to lose that much weight that quickly.  but just so you know, the best way to lose weight is to munch a lot of low calorie foods.  try to eat at least 5 times a day, 3 hours apart, and stop eating around 8pm. make the portions small, and if you like sweets, go to the store and look for the 100 calorie snacks.  they're pretty good.  try to keep track of what you eat and try to keep the calorie count around 1500-2000.  and when you're getting ready to eat, try to eat at a certain time, like for me, i eat at 9am (cereal), 12pm (sandwhich), 3pm (snack), 6pm(chicken-beef) and and little snack at 8pm. try to eat more chicken and a little bit of beef. and stay away from pork.  try to add some lemon or lime to meals...helps metabolism. and if you miss a time to eat, don't try to make it up just wait til the next time.  Hope everything works out.  good luck

Not only is it bad for you, but if you loose weight in this manner, you are more likely to gain not only that weight back but also other unwanted pounds.  The best way to loose weight is to eat in moderation, and restrict the fatty foods.  Things like chicken, fish, greens and whole grain breads.
