I had already answered a similar question before. Anyways, I'll make it short and simple:

Clinton Vs Giuliani - Clinton wins.

Yes, I believe I answered this question before as well.  My answer remains.  Obama vs. Giuliani and Obama wins.  What do you think?

Upon what are we to assess the likely winner? Polls? Personal preference?

I think the last two elections show that it could well be whomever the power elite wish to place in the presidency. Are you still of the opinion that your vote matters? Maybe it does as long as you aren't black, or elderly, or a Floridian.

Who can we trust? Hilary and Obama and Ron Paul may be saying things we want to hear but they weren't saying it back when it mattered.

I'm sorry I don't mean to be a doomsayer. If you are still optimistic about the future then more power to you. I just hope it's an optimism born of knowledge and not ignorance.

Save me please!

None of the candidates running, with the possible exception of Ron Paul are worth considering. It amazes me that with the population this country has that better candidates can't be found or are willing to run.

The US is in for some big changes.

I think that the Democrats will nominate Barack Obama, and that the Republicans will choose Mike Huckabee (believe it or not).   In my view, though, the races are close enough that if either of these candidates has a Howard Dean ("yahh!") or George Allen ("macaca") moment, another candidate -- i.e., Hillary Clinton, Rudy Giuliani -- would win the party's nomination.

I predict that Obama will win the general election, though not in a landslide.

unfortunately the dems will nominate Hillary, and the repubs will nominate Giuliani.

I think Giuliani will win (steal) it.

I don't want either of them, but it's the media that calls an election ya know. ;-)
