I just changed the transmission filter in my 2004 Malibu. I know it takes 6.9 quarts of oil to fill it back up. There is no dipstick and I need to know when it is full. How do I check the transmission oil level?
You need a scan tool that goes into the plug in the side of the trans. This scan tool checks the temperature and sets the level accordilng. They are avalible at the dealership or at large trans shops. And yes i know that this sounds unnessarly complex.
