You sharpen the axe. Invest in yourself and learn as much as you can. You have unlimited resources - books, people around you, the internet. Get down to the specifics and find out what you really want. Not necessarily the half a millions dollars but what that money would actually do for you.
Would it be to pay off some debt and relieve your stresses and worries? Would it be to take care of your family? Would it be that you have a dream that has a price tag of half a million dollars? Or can it be a combination of the above or other things on your mind?
Whatever it takes, make sure that your goals are clear enough for you to do what it takes to get there. And once you've sharpened the axe enough, get down, dirty and start chopping away. It is inevitable that you will run into some trouble and make some mistakes, but it should all be helping you learn. As long as you have faith in yourself and take action, you can reach your goals.
