you don't need to get the whole columb to replace the horn switch in the steering wheel. The air bag simply disconects from the wheel just like any other part.
First you need to know if its in the wheel, or under the hood.
The horn relay has 4 wires. 1 black. 1 dark green, and 2 ogange. Check to see if the black wire is grounded. A test light conected to the pos. on the battery will work for this test. If light is on, then the problem is most likly in the horn switch in the steering wheel.
If light comes on only when you hit the horn then the problem is most likely under the hood.
You could have a shorted relay.
Also check to see if there are any blown fuses even if they don't seem to have anything to do with the horn. Check them all. Many times I have seen the electicity take another path to ground because of a blown fuse.
Like on all electrical, when you start testing and poking around and looking, you will most likely stumble on to the problem and could be somthing out of the norm.
For what its worth, with all the computer and feul injection systems on the cars now days, The horn circit is one of the most basic.
Hope this helps.
