I own a 1985 Honda 250 Four Trax. It does not have a clutch handle or lever on the handle bars. Just a brake lever on each side. How do I shift gears?? The owners manual says just to let up on the gas/throttle and shift the pedel gear shift when I need to, however, I have never driving a bike or atv that had a gear shift and no clutch lever. Please advise. Thanks.
it seems to me that you have a semi automatic gear, which as far as i know very similar to an automatic gear, the only difference is that you change gears.
what you should do, is start in Neutral, change to 1st gear and drive. when the RPMs goes to high, leave the throtle and change to 2nd gear, like you'd do with a regular gear, the clutch is automatic. do so with any gear change, just don't lower gears when you're to fast for it.
I have to say that I'm not familiar with the model, and I'm not a Mechanic.

Well, listen to what you read in the owners manual. Let up on throttle and than shift gears. Its what they call "semi-automatic". No need for a clutch, just make sure you let up on the throttle EVERYTIME you shift. Do you know how to use reverse? I also own the same bike and enjoy riding it.
