A:The "Old Alternators" needed to be "Tickled" to "Start Up" where as the new use "Magnets" to do this. Never "Cut" wires, rather Tape them back into the "Loom". U may get stuck in some tiny burg that only has Ur Old Style Alternator to replace the "One Wire Unit" & be very glad U didn't "Cut" anything. John
