To go to a 5 guage set up, Get the insterment cluster from a 1966. They are alot easier to find.

Everything will swith over except the amp guage.

On the oil sender, it need to be change to a sender for a guage, not a light.

oil wire is white/red stripe  fuel is yellow/white stripe temp is red/white stripe

Although Ford made few distinct changes in the Mustang for the model years '64 &'65 the gauge cluster may have a different steering column placement, along with the either, addition or subtraction of a dash support pillar. It would be proper to either; 1) achieve access to both of the vehicles and remove both gauge panels, taking care to unplug, not cut the connections from each individual gauge. Take care to note the placement of the zip ties( some may have to be cut to gain complete access to the wiring. 2) Try sliding the '65 panel in slowely, taking care not to chaffe to wiring( we don't want shorts or fires ). 3) If only 1 support pillar is keeping the panel from fitting. Try trimming first ( remember it will never be able to be concidered original again, once you start trimming. I, Myself might call: YEAR ONE or see if you can scam a '64 Shelby panel from a very close and generous relative or friend. I think you might be pleased with the swap. I hope this is helpful!!!      HOTRODCOLLINGHAM
