Work hard or go home.
I would suggest going to the gym and speaking with a personal trainer. He/she can help you build a workout program to achieve what it is you are trying to change.
If you cannot do that, I would suggest reading up on the different muscles of the body and zeroing in on the areas of interest with different weight lifting sets.
