12 Mp camera on a phone? isn't it too much?

Hey guys. Is it really worth it to have a 12Mp camera on a phone? isn't it just a huge memory hog to take photos with so many pixels?

Ron,

Hello. In my opinion, anything over a few Mp's is over kill on phones. The lens is not an optical treasure, probably plastic and it's like the disposable/throw away cameras and the sensor, has really got to be tiny. And finally, sending 12 mp to anyone is a pain!

I know I'll probably hear from someone that they "only" use phone cameras for their work and in the MOMA next week!!
