Hey! I am a Mother to a (just-turned) 15-year-old son. We have 2 cats, (after losing another), a Big 'Deign,' (he's a cross between a Great Dane & a Husky!, {so they tell us}), it's just that a mature Great Dane would be SO huge next to a Husky. Now, I know most of us are aware that animals don't have to be technically 'ready' to breed for it to happen-which is why so many female cats without homes or shelters are giving birth to poor little kittens who are unwanted; a female cat begins going into heat well before they're a year old-& this is a BIG trick on them, too. Anyone who has/has had one who is an inside cat knows what I mean. Until U get then spayed they will drive U crazy! They are extra affectionate, (because they feel a desperate need that they just don't understand-until it's too late!), then that's when you hear those blood-curdling shrieks & howls at night & U know they're thinking, 'What kind-of jip is this?!' Not to be too graphic, (I used to work as a vet-tech), but U know how cats tongues are made with that sandpapery feel because they bathe themselves? Well, suffice it to say, the jip is that the females are the ones to go into heat because there's no way they would deliberately seek out a 'sandpapery mating!!' A Dr. showed me that when we were neutering a male one day--ouch!! I guess my Humane Society/ASPCA/WWF/NWF...is showing. At any rate, our dog is tall, muscled, strong & rambunctious-the total nature of the Great Dane. But he does have one blue eye! I have been singing since before I spoke, & by age 13 I realized- after a couple of contests did not work out well SIMPLY because I wasn't heard over the music, (duh), & because the band was playing way too slow for the song-that I better learn to play the guitar. That way, if anything DID go wrong, I'd know it was me! I met my husband when we were both married to other people. My then-husband knew him from working at the same plant years before, & we were trying to put together a band. There was me on acoustic plus I had taught him how to play & got him a guitar for his birthday, & one of my best friends also played & sang great backup; & he said, 'you know, I know a guy I used to work with-I don't know why I didn't think of this before-but he is a 'kick-___' lead picker & he can sing, too.' So, we started playing, singing & getting others, (bassists, drummers), to join in as often as we could. We, (my now-Husband & I), won some contests together. Ultimately, my ex-husband dragged me with him to San Diego, CA, so he could be in the Navy! That pretty much did us in, (among others, like his manic stages-I think he was bi-polar). So I left him there & flew back home. I started going to college for veterinary technology & working at Winn Dixie grocery. He walked in there one day, bought a MINIMUM of items, & asked me over-and the rest is history!
