The mini split units a very good, as for how long they least is up to you as long as you perform the right maintenance this units will least a long time. I recommend the higher seers the better.

Hvac compressor

Why would you want to do that. recover the freon from the system and jump out the low pressure control and run the compressor with no freon that will break the compressor, i hope you don't get caught
