I do it with my finger and then wash it. its my dog and I don't care touching his eyes. but if you disgusted from it use cotton ball or an ear cleaner.

As long as you clean it good, it shouldn't be a problem. but if the wok any sentimental value for you , you can buy a new one real cheap.
