That wasn't exactly a great reason they gave you. I would speak to a supervisor first for a better explanation. Inform them that this is unnacceptable and try to possibly work out a better term ...

If the school has a financial aid department, I would check with them. They would have more information than here and they could direct you to whom you should speak with directly.

I would first work on raising your credit score through regular and on time payments. Once you have your credit score to a reasonable rate, contact a rep and negotiate better terms for yourself.

Your credit cards can be consolidated into one lump sum. This way you're only making one payment a month. You cannot do that with your mortgage however, i believe. You may want to talk to your bank ...

No not if his name is not on the card. Anyone processing the card should notice the name on the card and deny the transaction from going through.
