How large of an attachment can I send?
Asked by AnnieSu

The total megabytes for an email can not exceed 16MB.  Taking into consideration the size of the message and all its components (e.g., header, body, encoded attachments, etc) that leaves an effective size of around 12MB for any attachments.

The current Beta version of webmail enables attachments up to 5 GB via XDrive. See http://www.mailblog.aol.com for details.

How can I delete multiple emails at once?
Asked by colinf

There are two ways to delete multiple emails at once.

First, you can click on the uppermost checkbox located below the Keep as New button.  This will select all emails in your Inbox.

Secondly, you can select a range by clicking on the checkbox next to the first (or last) message, hold Shift, and then select the checkbox next to the last (or first) message.

After selecting the desired range, simply click the Delete button.

How do I change my panel selections?
Asked by newsjunky

Move your mouse over the panel selector buttons and wait until a little drop down arrow appears. Click on the arrow and select a different panel from the menu. You can do this for each and every of the four buttons. This will allow you to "reprogram" these 4 buttons with any of the available panels.

Why do my emails keep being deleted?
Asked by sarahs

If you do have an email adress ending in @aol.com then email in your folders "New/Read" and "Sent" only stay there for 30 days. If you want to permanently save them, move them to one of the folders under "My folders/Saved on AOL"

Also, if you access mail via POP3, most POP3 clients will delete the copy on the server after they retrieved the mail. If you don't want that, tell the POP3 client to leave a copy on the server.

Is there anyway to make it faster?
Asked by Jackyp

How fast mail travels from one point to another - ie from you to the recipient - depends on many different things. The speed of your internet connection for example, the load on the servers it passes on it's way to the recipient and of course the available bandwith etc. It's pretty much like highway traffic: At peak times there might be traffic jams and everything moves slower and at certain times, mail might just zip through the system. There isn't really anything you can do. But be assured: The mail providers do everything they can to ensure a timely delivery of mail.

What's unique about AOL's webmail?
Asked by MaryK

Start by taking a tour here: http://o.aolcdn.com/cdn.webmail.aol.com/mailtour/aol/en-us/index.htm

In a nutshell: You get unlimited storage, industry leading spam fighting technology, as many accounts as you want with lots of different domains (you don't have to be Mary@aol.com or Mary@aim.com (go to http://domains.aol.com and see what's available), free IMAP and free POP3 access, one of the best mobile mail applications around (http://wap.aol.com/mail/wap), a zippy userinterface which you can customize a bit by chosing different color. And, I think that's the best: You can use Calenar, AOL Instant Messenger and all the other AOL products for free with the same AOL email address. Most of the stuff is even integrated in AOL Webmail, like Calendar and AIM.

Is there anyway to stay logged in?
Asked by andyp

If you are using webmail (http://webmail.aol.com), just check the little box which says "Stay signed in until I sign out" just below the field where you enter your password. So next time you return to http://webmail.aol.com you won't have to enter your username and password again. But be careful: You should only use this on computers you use alone or if you trust the people you share this computer with, since they potentially would have access to your mails too this way.
